Every time I turn around, it seems like Belize is getting more and more press… more flights… visits from celebrities… and so many awards being won. Not bad for this little country that just turned 41 years old in September 2022!
It goes without saying: I think that Belize is one of the most beautiful places in the world. It’s why I’ve dedicated much of my life to sharing so much of what this country has to offer to a worldwide audience. Which includes you, my reader.
A record amount of sargassum is smothering Caribbean coasts from Puerto Rico to Barbados to Belize. More than 24 million tons blanketed the Atlantic in June, up from 18.8 million tons in May 2022.
Belizean food is influenced by its location in the middle of Central America and Caribbean. It incorporates simple yet delicious staples like rice & beans with flavorful, stewed or grilled meats. In fact, many Belizeans have a variation of this meal almost every day for lunch or dinner.
For many, there’s nothing quite like drinking a cold beer while relaxing on the beach. Here’s a fun fact— did you know that Belize has their very own beer? It’s called Belikin Beer!
